It said the dispatch vehicle, named Simorgh after a winged creature in Iranian folklore, was equipped for pushing a satellite weighing 250 kilograms (550 pounds) to a height of 500 kilometers (300 miles) above earth.
The dispatch denoted the official introduction of Iran’s Imam Khomeini space focus, named after the late originator of the Islamic republic, incorporated for sending satellites with space, the TV said.
